Moderating audience questions
Approving questions before they appear, marking them answered, and keeping the screen clean.
Approval before the screen
In the editor, tick Approve each question before it appears on the screen on a Q&A slide. New questions then wait for you. The person who sent one sees Waiting for approval on their phone.
Where to moderate
While presenting, press Questions in the control bar to open the list beside your slides. If you are using your phone as a remote, the questions are there too.
For each question you can:
- Show a waiting question on the screen,
- mark it Answered once it has been dealt with, which moves it down,
- Hide it, which takes it off the screen and out of the results.
The word filter
Offensive words are refused before they reach anyone, in questions, word clouds and nicknames. The person sending sees a polite note and can try again.
Upvotes
People can upvote questions other than their own, once each. The screen shows the most upvoted first, so the question most of the room wants answered is at the top.
