What we keep, and why.

Last updated 15 October 2026.

If you answer in a session

You do not need an account and we do not ask who you are. Your phone gets a random identifier for that session, kept in your browser, so that you are counted once and can reconnect. We keep your answers, any question you send, and any name you choose to add. The presenter sees them, and may download them.

Answers are anonymous unless you add a name. Quiz nicknames are made up for you and can be changed.

If you present

We keep your name, your email address and your password (stored only as a one-way hash), the presentations you make, and the answers given in your sessions. We use your email to sign you in, to reset your password and to send the reports you ask for. We do not send marketing email.

If you try Roomwave without an account, your guest workspace and everything in it is deleted after a day unless you save it as an account.

Cookies and storage

We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. Phones that join a session keep a small identifier in the browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare counts page visits for us without cookies and without identifying anyone.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare carries traffic to our servers and protects them from attacks.
  • Resend delivers the emails you ask for: password links and reports.

We never sell data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Presentations and session results: until you delete them or your account.
  • Guest workspaces: one day.
  • PDF reports: kept for 14 days, then drawn again when you next ask for one.
  • Password links: one hour, used once.

Your choices

You can change your details or delete your account from Account at any time. Deleting your account deletes your presentations and every session's results straight away. To ask about your data, write to us from the contact page.

We handle personal data in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
